Apparently now CNN is looking t0 Dick Cheney for advice on Obama? Cheney is now coming out and saying that he believes Republicans will make it big in the 2010 election races for the House and Senate.
He believes that Obama has "implemented 'radical' far left policies even though he campaigned as a conventional Democrat." Isn't that the whole point of being a Democrat...being left-winged in policies that he is supporting and implementing?? Cheney said Obama has been a lot different then "what we've traditionally had in Democratic presidents in years past." Is that not the point of electing a new president into the White House? Wasn't Obama's slogan "Change WE Can Believe In?" What does he expect with someone like Obama coming into the White House...another George Bush?
But yet to make this article even better they ask him who he thinks could win it in 2012 and he goes onto say, "It might hurt them more than it would help them coming from me." That right there coming from his own mouth. I just do not get why Cheney gets to comment when Obama has to go in and clean up after what the wonderful George Bush and himself left for him. What does he expect Obama still has a lot to work on.

I think that hes saying that there were some promises and ideas that he has not followed through on. Even though it is early there has not really been much of a change. There has been alot of talk about huge changes but in reality what has he really done...I think that the people of this country expected more. Maybe it is not fair but that is the idea that he ran his campaign on "change". Where's the change?
ReplyDeleteI think it would be really naïve of us as Americans to assume that monumental change was going to come by electing Obama as president. So I disagree that he hasn’t done much in office and I think that what he has accomplished has been pretty substantial considering we cannot honestly expect him to jump in and fix everything. In a fledgling economy we have managed to come up with a new Health Care bill and though we are sending more troops into the war I feel that the mindset concerning the war effort has swayed towards the liberal exit strategy. I kind of liken the president to a coaches position in sports. The coach brings new philosophies and ideas but it is up to the player to execute the strategy, so Obama is working through the senate and the house to try to make his vision come true.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the current state of politics and the state of the economy, I actually have to agree with the first statement of the Republican party looking to do good in 2010. Now that isn't to say they'll take control of the House and Senate, but I can't imagine the Democrats will hold their majority.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of that interview seems to be Cheney continuing the strong arm politics that he is familiar with. I would also argue that he is trying to preserve the legacy of the Bush administration although others would argue he is trying to make way for a run in 2012.
