President Obama has lost quite a bit of support in the last twelve months from California citizens. In the last year his approval ratings have fallen from 65%to 52%. The state that usually tends to vote for democratic candidates, has become ill impressed with the president they had so much hope for when he was first elected to turn our country around. One of the issues that has influenced this thirteen point drop is healthcare. Many California voters are not in favor of the healthcare plan President Obama has proposed. However, it is not just the White House that they are unimpressed with. They also do not agree with the job that Congress is doing either. If President Obama's ratings continue to drop, this could really hurt him in the 2012 election. Depending on what happens with Congress and his proposed healthcare plan, more states could be following in California's foot steps.

I agree! Obama is losing more and more of his supporters. With the drastic drop of 65% to 52% that you gave in your post, it is easy to see that his Honeymoon phase is officially over. The public, mainly his supporters, are sick of hearing about all of the great ideas and plans he has for America, we are all ready to see some of these things finally happen. The 2012 election is sneaking up a lot faster than a lot of us thought it would (in my opinion). It will be very interesting to see how it turns out. With very controversial topics such as the recent success of his health care plan, I feel many people will be extremely happy or extremely disappointed with his choices.
ReplyDeleteI agree as well, I feel that a lot of people are feeling less confident about Obama since he has become president. I just wish that everyone will continue to be patient, because in my opinion Obama is probably one of the first president who is actually doing what he said he would do during his election. The 2012 election will be here before we know, but I believe by then people will see that Obama is doing a great job so far and that he is really trying to get the economy out of this recession!
