Is Obama Losing respect in Israel? is a video that sums up what news critics have been saying about President Obama’s foreign relationship. This particular video has an Israel man talking about how negative Obama is treating Israel people. The man being interviewed talks about how there has been extreme pressure from the white house sense Obama has been president to do and not do certain things. When taking an excerpt of President Obama talking about Israel, President Obama says that Israel government is asking for trouble when building certain buildings in Israel. This clearly is not accepted by the Israel man and really tries to show how bad President Obama’s foreign relationships skills are. This is not the only example of President Obama being in the negative light. After a world tour President Obama was bashed by all forms of media as media was being a watch dog of President Obama. I don’t understand much about foreign relationships but I feel like when the media destroys President Obama in our media it only aids in the anger of foreign policy and lack of support of the United States. I believe the news should be shown accurately however the President should not be criticized from one man from Israel if that opinion is not the general senses of the people of that country.

This is a very interesting and concerning to piece that I enjoyed reading. It is good to know that Obama is not doing very well with foreign relationships. Not that I think it is good that this is happening between the United States president and other countries, but is good because I am now informed of what is going on with current relationships other countries are having with the United States after the current world tour Obama took part in. I feel like the media often gives the american people what they want to hear, while also creating drama which rises television and news ratings. With news of voters recently turning their backs on Obama before his world tour and a larger number of independent party member leaning towards the republican party now instead of the democratic party it only makes sense that the news would try to fuel that fire even more and keep attention on the subject of President Obama being a bad president and people no longer wanting him in office. I believe what has happened is that yes, Obama could have made a mistake somewhere along the line like every other president has, however, with timing when it happened the media has blown it out of proportion.
ReplyDeleteI thought this article was very interesting as well but I also think the media and people are too critical of our president. I agree with Rob that although Obama was not seen in the best light during his world tour, I'm sure he didn't mean to look bad and upset Israeli people. The book talks about the "crisis Presidency and I think that is esactly the role Obama is playing right now. It says "the presidents constitutionally assigned role of commander-in-chief makes him the focal point for leadership during times of emergency" (Bell 240). He is trying his best and will make mistakes that the media and poele will jump on to make him look bad.
