Sarah Palin's book

With elections for the next president of the United States coming up in like a year, Sarah Palin is coming out with a book. Her book is called America by Heart and it supposedly about the years during and before the last presidential election and how she received so much love. I think that it is not coincidence that she is releasing it right now. She knows that people will pay attention to her even more now because the book is being released. Even though many people may not feel that she is suitable to run the nation, attention is so very important these days. I for one hope she does not become a serious candidate in the race because I think she’s an idiot, but you never know in our nation. Being a celebrity obviously very important, just like what we saw with Jesse Ventura and Terminator.

  1. I agree with you on this one, celebrity plays a huge role in selling copies of books and allowing the inattentive public as well as the attentive public to gain some insight into the next presidental election. I also feel that with Obama's approval rating being down, people see Palin as an option and may want to see if she has any depth to her actions. She is also releasing her book before the holidays and I feel like this is a huge benefit for her. And for people who do not think much of Sarah Palin, this is just another good laugh and another critique against her.

  2. Just as discussed in class celerity’s are looking more and more like qualified candidates just because of their popularity. I believe Sarah Palin is using this idea full force. Palin has said outlandish things during conventions to having her own reality television show all to get more media attention. If she was not a person that just ran for the Vice Presidency then the country would think she was just another “situation” where she is trying to make the most cash while she still has her celebrity status. Instead because of the previous race people enjoy watching this American live her life believing she is a political figure.
